By Surround Sound DVD player, I assume you mean a HTIB (Home Theater in Box, Receiver, speakers and DVD player all in one)
What kind of TV so you have? How many inputs and what kind( HDMI, COMPONENT, Standard A/V) ,and are there any audio outputs ( red and white) on the back of the TV? If you don't have any audio outputs on the TV, then you will need an A/V switcher to run your video signals to the TV and the audio to the Surround Sound DVD player. I dont know what kind of surround we are talking about but everything needs to run into the stereo. cable box to the stereo . ps3 to the stereo. now from the stereo to the tv. basically everything into the stereo and out of the stereo to the tv.
