Thinking of emigrating?

Hi,

My partner and I are thinking of emigrating in the next 5 or so years and just want to start looking into our options.

We have been thinking of America, New Zealand or Australia. My partner has just graduated with a degree in Archaeology and would possibly like to go into lecturing and I will graduate with a Computer Science degree next July and would like to go into teaching.

Does any one know of any nice places to emigrate to, I don't want to live in a city but would like to be close to one or a big town but out in the countryside or suburbs, somewhere peaceful, where I can have a big garden and be close to nature. So far we have thought about Boston, or upstate New York.

Any advice would be great.

Update:

I had put this in the general travel section but it seems to have gone into the Australia section for some reason but would still like advice on all places mentioned in my question.

Update 2:

Should have said I come from N. Ireland and want to emigrate out of the UK.

Hi there, I come from England, and I have to say that, despite the Summer rain (which can actually be quite nice), that most spots are absolutely beautiful. A nice place that's in the country but near a city is really anywhere in Lincolnshire, with it being an agricultural county. All the areas around Lincoln are very very nice, especially the little village Nettleham not far outside from the city. The city itself is lovely, and all the coutryside around it is so very beautiful and inspiring.

    I hope this helped =)

With regards to Australia - a computer science degree is not sufficient to teach - you also need a Graduate Diploma in Education on top of that to teach in a school.

For your partner - he will need to have completed a PhD and at least one post doc in order to get a job as a lecturer (PhD is the absolute minimum but since there are perhaps 5 lecturers in Archeology in Australia - a number of post docs will also be required as well as sufficient publications.

a good variety of English people in the previous emigrated to SA. South Africa is a sunny u . s . - climate smart.... the problem is that artwork is constrained. in the previous deprived people (each at times unqualified) do get the artwork over white people. i could recommend which you first get artwork in SA till now you stop your existence in England. in spite of the undeniable fact that, i think of greater people from SA emigrated presently to England than any different way around. colleges are no longer that undesirable, yet we do each now and then have violence in our colleges to boot. Crime is everywhere in the international, yet i think of that SA have little bit greater suitable than maximum different countries.

    Hi there,

The three main cities I would recommend are:

    Sydney (Australia)

    New York (USA)

    San Diego (USA)

All have their benefits, but I think that San Diego is one of those hidden gems that has just about everything - night life and a great outdoor lifestyle.

I recently found this website that has some good information on moving to a new country:

    www.universalwelcome.com

    Good luck!
