Can you get an ILP number if you are pretty sure that you have purebred dogs?

Can I send pictures of my Coonhounds in to the AKC and have them evaluate the dogs? I am 99.99% sure they are purebred because I am familiar with the breed standard and he fits it. Reba also fits the breed standard for a Redbone and her microchip records say she was a Redbone Coonhound. I would like to get an ILP for them to get into events like tracking, etc.

I had a UKC registered Bluetick (Dixie)- so I do know how their program works but not the AKC as they were just adding their Coonhound program and I received a Foundation Stock Service invitation for her - these 2 dogs were adopted. Or am I going to have to wait until the mix breed program is rolled out?

BC's question reminded me of this question I wanted to ask.

Update:

I ask because AKC's page says there are many dogs who were abandoned/surrendered in their program.

Update 2:

Kelly O - I couldn't get it under the Foundation Stock Service? The Redbone and Bluetick are listed on that page. I was probably sent a FSS because Dixie's parents were Champion titled - though.

Update 3:

Thanks - Rayven for the info - I will check it out.

Thanks - everyone.

I believe you can since the PAL/ILP page states that FSS breeds are eligible. http://www.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfm I would contact the AKC and ask whether you can get the ILP for them under the current PAL program or not.

You can get an ILP if your dog is one of the registerable AKC breeds. My research shows that only the Black and Tan Coonhound is currently recognized.

I'm sending you a link that explains how to get an ILP. Remember that ILP registered dogs must be spayed/neutered.

I went through the process with my Golden Retriever. He was a career change from Guide Dogs for the Blind, who does not register their litters with the AKC. I was able to get an ILP on him fairly easily.

The difference between you an BC is you most likely actually have a purebred, and BC knows she doesn't have a purebred dogs so to knowingly falsify to the AKC is completly stupid. You know the dog is probably purebred so I would say to give it a chance, the worst that could happen is you would be denied.

The redbone coonhound is in the miscellanious class. So yes it is AKC registrable Bobbie. And so are Black and Tan coonhounds, and Bluetick coonhounds and treeing walker coonhounds.

the buddy software is for purebreds purely. the two wait til they start up off taking applications for the blended breed software or get an ILP from the UKC which has usually happening blended breeds for the longest time. BC: what's the think approximately mendacity. you realize she's not purebred and you realize there are different ideas obtainable. NVM i don't understand why i'm even bothering to argue some thing like integrity with a toddler who's regular with greater effective. ETA: Bull BC. You tutor interior the UKC circuit. you realize darn properly you ought to get an ILP with them. there replaced into no reason to invite approximately attempting to slip in a mutt contained in direction of the AKC's buddy software.

I don't believe that Coonhounds are recognized by AKC, so, NO, you can't get an ILP #.
