  • 6 month old rott needs home - should I adopt?

I am now considering a 6 month old rottweiler who needs a home as her people are being evicted. Would a 6 month old Rott adjust to being with 2 other dogs or should I wait and get a younger puppy if I get a Rottweiler? I am an experienced dog owner (have had GSD's for years - but they got along with everyone). I heard Rotts can be funny that way.

  • Why are country artists teaming up with rappers lately?

First it was Taylor Swift with T-Pain (which I didn't care for) and now one of my favorite songs has been messed up in a "club remix" - "She's Country" by Jason Aldean - http://www.myspace.com/newvoiceentertain

    What's the deal?

  • Has anyone ever ordered from doggie food.com?

They have Taste Of The Wild 38.50 or 2 for 76.00 for a 30 lb bag (shipping included), which is a great price - has anyone ever ordered from there and how was the service?

  • Favorite Brooks and Dunn song?

Mine right now is : Cowgirls Don't Cry (I've been thru some stuff over the past year and that song makes me feel better when I hear it - have it as a ringtone also. Plus my mom used to tell me that when I was learning how to ride and fell off.)

  • Repost (no answers): Is it just me or does Connor Cruise look like Tom?

I know he is adopted (or is supposed to be) but Connor Cruise kinda looks like Tom to me. Maybe it is because he was adopted so young - I hear sometimes children who are adopted can grow to resemble their adoptive parent (if adopted at an early age). Here is the article that had the picture that made me wonder:

  • Has anyone seen this article on dog intelligence?

I was looking at the Yahoo homepage and found this article. It is about dogs being as intelligent as toddlers. Do you think dogs are smarter than toddlers or not? What is your opinion?

  • Sable or Black and Tan?

I am looking at 2 puppies that are up for adoption - both are around 6 months - one is black and tan, the other sable. I like both markings and both pups have a great temprament. I think I may get the sable as I have never had one and I think the sable coat is beautiful. I have had the black and tan and the bi-color (black with tan feet). What is your favorite GSD color?

  • Told a guy i liked him - he said he was flattered and we'd talk later- bad sign?

I told this guy that I liked him and he left a voicemail on my phone, thanking me for the letter and being honest and he said he didn't know i felt that way about him. He said that he was flattered and we would talk about it later when we got a chance. Is this a bad sign - or maybe not? I always heard when I guy said he was flattered that that meant thanks but no thanks. Opinions needed.

  • Is a smooth-coated GSD a purebred?

Grwoing up I saw smooth coated German Shepherds around - I haven't seen them anymore. Is this a recessive trait or were the GSD's I saw mixed with something else? We always had the normal plush coated GSD's (most imported) when I was growing up.

  • Weird dream - can someone tell me what it means? (No answers in dream interpretation - so asking dog section)?

I had a weird dream last night that I can fully remember - probably because it was strange. I dreamed I was riding along on a moped and saw a stray wolf/shepherd looking dog with a black and grey stipple coat. He came up to me when I stopped the moped and started whining and wagging his tail. I noticed he had tags on - and they said Washington State. I live near Missouri. I petted him and took off again on the moped, slowly, with the dog following me. I stopped at my aunt's house (which here is where it gets strange as she passed on in January). She liked to sit out on the porch and I went up the stairs with the dog following me, and she said "nice dog, are you going to take him in?" I told her I wasn't sure and she said that I ought to at least take him in for awhile.

I have a friend (he's got black hair with a little grey in it) that moved and things just aren't working out - he talked about possibly coming back to Illinois, but he wouldn't have a place to stay. Do you think subconciously I was thinking about whether to offer him a place to stay til he got back on his feet and it manifested itself in a dream? Thanks.

  • "People are Crazy" - is it just me or can you imagine Tom T Hall doing this song?

I like "People Are Crazy" because it has that classic country feel to it - kind of like "Good Directions" - and it sounds like something Tom T Hall might have done or would do. Mainly because it is a story-type song. Am I crazy? Lol.

  • Can you get an ILP number if you are pretty sure that you have purebred dogs?

Can I send pictures of my Coonhounds in to the AKC and have them evaluate the dogs? I am 99.99% sure they are purebred because I am familiar with the breed standard and he fits it. Reba also fits the breed standard for a Redbone and her microchip records say she was a Redbone Coonhound. I would like to get an ILP for them to get into events like tracking, etc.

I had a UKC registered Bluetick (Dixie)- so I do know how their program works but not the AKC as they were just adding their Coonhound program and I received a Foundation Stock Service invitation for her - these 2 dogs were adopted. Or am I going to have to wait until the mix breed program is rolled out?

BC's question reminded me of this question I wanted to ask.

  • GSD/Malinois Cross - what do you think?

I like German Shepherds (and Malinois too) - what do you think of him?

I was considering adopting this GSD/Malinois cross - the fee is not bad and I have heard good things about the rescue. I am an experienced German Shepherd owner (as well as dog owner in general) and hear Malinois can be high energy so he would fit in with my coonhounds - lol. I was going to see him next week if still there and check him out. What do you think about him? Just wanted some opinions. I also like that he is an older puppy. Here is a pic:

  • Close guy friend needs place to stay while he gets back on his feet- is this ok?

I have a pretty close guy friend that might be coming back to this area. He moved away for a job opportunity and things didnt go as planned. He is considering coming back here but might need a place to stay until he can get back on his feet and get his own place. We are platonic friends - would it be okay if I offered?
