Weird dream (help 10 pts/no answers last time) - can someone tell me what it means?

I had a weird dream last night that I can fully remember - probably because it was strange. I dreamed I was riding along on a moped and saw a stray wolf/shepherd looking dog with a black and grey stipple coat. He came up to me when I stopped the moped and started whining and wagging his tail. I noticed he had tags on - and they said Washington State. I live near Missouri. I petted him and took off again on the moped, slowly, with the dog following me. I stopped at my aunt's house (which here is where it gets strange as she passed on in January). She liked to sit out on the porch and I went up the stairs with the dog following me, and she said "nice dog, are you going to take him in?" I told her I wasn't sure and she said that I ought to at least take him in for awhile.

I have a friend (he's got black hair with a little grey in it) that moved and things just aren't working out - he talked about possibly coming back to Illinois, but he wouldn't have a place to stay. Do you think subconciously I was thinking about whether to offer him a place to stay til he got back on his feet and it manifested itself in a dream? Thanks.

Update:

When I said I wasn't sure, he ****** his head and whined .

He would do the same for me - in fact before he left he helped me move some stuff from my aunt's house.

Update 2:

not sure why that was censored - but I guess I should have said tilted his head instead of what I said.

Yes I think you are both remembering your aunt and thinking about possible future decisions that you might make in the future. This dream was telling you to take in your friend and to offer him shelter. God is reaching out to you and giving you an answer to a question you will ask soon. Hope this helps!

There is a theory that everything in a dream is representative of yourself.

A moped is a weak, underpowered transportation device. You slow down even more to let the whining/friendly dog from far away keep up.

You seem to be processing some low-grade inner conflict with how you move along in your life and with your emotions.

Your Aunt's question can be translated, "Are you going to reconcile your needy/insecure issues that slow you down?" And you're self-assessment is you're moving slowly already. That the dog is from far away could mean you preceive a great deal of distance from your needful places.

It's hard to interpret another's dreams. That's the best I can do.

maybe but dreams can also mean nothing

i had had a dream when i was a bit younger than i am today that i had on a numerous occasion, it was i was sitting in the passenger seat of my parents grey Isuzu carrier jeep next to my mother in my kitchen (i didn't know how it got in there + quite a big kitchen)in front of us was the back of a figure wearing all black and a black pointy hat, it turned very slowly towards us and we saw an ugly face full of horror, evil, and hatred, then the dream ended (bare in mind this was a dream i had when i was about 6 years of age ( 11 years ago) in the house and car i had back then

this dream meant nothing because it just told me what i had and a random witch lol. But maybe it is reminding you of something sorry just thought id drop a comment on my random dream :P i have a hell of a lot more

Yes, I believe you are correct. I believe you may be thinking about taking your friend in. I also think you are thinking about something from the West Coast. Do you know someone from the West Coast or Washington, or have you ever thought about moving there or visiting there? I also think the dream means you have been thinking about your Aunt who passed away. I have had a reoccurring dream about my Grandma who passed several years ago. The dream could mean several things, but I think it is good that you are trying to interpret it.

I definitely think that this is about your friend. There are some things to consider, though.

    1. When you said you weren't sure, what did the dog do? Did he run away, or stay with you?

    2. If you came to this friend, would he do the same?

Comment me back on what happens.

    Hope this helps.

Only you can really translate your own dreams...here are some explanations of things you saw in your dream to help. Go to Dreammoods.com

To see or ride a moped in your dream, symbolizes your desire for freedom and need for adventure. You may be trying to escape from some situation or some other responsibility in your waking life. Alternatively, a motorcycle is also symbolic of raw sexuality.

To dream that you are speeding on a motorcycle, indicates that you are moving too fast.

    Wolf

To see a wolf in your dream, symbolizes survival, beauty, solitude, mystery, self-confidence and pride. You are able to keep your composure in a variety of social circumstances and blend into any situation with ease and grace. You are also a loner by choice. Negatively, the wolf represents hostility, aggression, or sneakiness. It may reflect an uncontrollable force or situation in your life.

    Dog

To see a dog in your dream, symbolizes intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. The dream suggests that your strong values and good intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and bring you success. Alternatively, it indicates a skill that you have ignored or forgotten. If the dog is vicious and/or growling, then it signifies some inner conflict within yourself. It may indicate betrayal and untrustworthiness. If the dog is dead or dying, then it indicates a loss of a good friend. Alternatively, it represents a deterioration of your instincts. Also consider common notions associated with the word dog, such as loyalty ("man's best friend") and to be "treated like a dog".

    Black

Black symbolizes the unknown, unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, hate or malice.

If the feeling in the dream is one of joy, blackness could imply hidden spirituality and divine qualities.

    Gray

Gray indicates fear, fright, depression, ill health, ambivalence and confusion. You may feel emotionally distant or detached.

    Aunt

To see your aunt in your dream, represents family characteristics and values. It is a connection to your own heritage. The aunt may also represent aspects of yourself that you like or dislike. She can also be seen as a substitute mother.

To see your dead sibling, relative, or friend in your dream, indicates that you miss them and are trying to relive your old experiences you had with them. In trying to keep up with the pace of your daily waking life, you dreams may serve as your only outlet in coping and coming to terms with the loss of a loved one.

If you dreamed about a dog and your aunt, it might mean that you miss your aunt and would like a dog. The friend thing is pretty much the same thing, you miss him/her. Apparently dreams silent your needs.

  • 1 decade ago

Indeed. I believe that's exactly what it meant. Is your friend from coming from Washington State? If not, Maybe it's that same reason but towards another person. Maybe a stranger perhaps? or someone you know but still kind of consider a stranger.??

i think your dream means something like that he had a quality of your aunt that you subconsciously like about both of them. as far as the dog goes your wanting them both back because you loved your aunt alot and thecharacteristicss he has of her are making you yearn for him to come back. but the reason youdidn'tt pickup orimmediatelyy choose to keep the dog is because of problems you have with him. you should deeply think about what you want and if it is worth it to have him back just for the loving qualities of your aunt that he has.
