I trim the individual splits that I find, but this can cause fairy-tale ends - where the ends are thinner & more see-through than the bulk. I also use catnip tea for a rinse & have good results with fewer split ends. I let it sit on my hair overnight & wash it out in the morning, but other people just use it as a final rinse when they wash their hair. Also, make sure you use conditioner EVERY TIME you wash your hair. The moisture helps the ends tremendously.
As far as supplements, I use Acidophilus, biotin, sea kelp, a B vitamin complex, fish oil & vitamin E oil to help my hair grow quick & healthy.
Keeping your hair up will protect it from abuse, so mine is bunned most of the time. I also slather oil or shea butter on it before braiding it at night. My current favourite oil is this stuff called "Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil" that I find in the African-American hair section at Wal-Mart. My second fave oil is coconut. I personally found that olive oil made my ends crunchy, especially if I put it on dry hair. You may have to try several oils before you find the one that works best for you.
Best of luck.

Try not to straighten your hair as much. I straighten my hair every day, and I also use a heat protectant, but I get split ends a lot too. I put in lots of conditioner and leave it in for 10 minutes in the shower, rinse off with cool water, run a comb through my hair, and put in leave in conditioner. Try putting more heat protectant spray at the ends of your hair. Also, look on Google for some different types of hair masks you can make at home with simple ingredients. Hope I helped! Good luck:)

Dang... use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. then use a wide toothed comb to comb your hair when its wet. tie it in a bun till its almost dry cuz the air itself can cause split ends. continue to use leave-in conditioners. Try Biosilk Silk Therapy. its pricey but there's the Generic at Sally's Beauty Supply its cheaper and works just as good. Thats the most u can do if ur not using heat styling tools. the only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them. but use hair masques and treatments to keep them like they are. Oil treatments help loads, too.

i totally have the same problem.
here's what i do, and it totally works for me.
get pantene shampoo and conditioner (beautiful lengths)
and use both daily. twice a week, instead of rinsing out
your conditioner in the shower, put extra conditioner on it
and get out. leave it in a showercap with the conditioner on
your hair for about half an hour. then rinse it out with cold
water (cold water makes your hair shine). you'll notice that
your hair got softer and looks less damaged right after it dries.
KEEP DOING THIS!
but no more than twice a week.
using this method daily will totally ruin your hair.
hope i helped!

The only way to get rid of spilt ends is to trim your hair which sucks I know. You could try some prenatal vitamins (you can get them at a drugstore) to get your hair to grow quicker

try just a teeny bit of olive oil. then wash it out after a little bit.
It will make the ends less dry.
Either that or go to a hair stylist and tell you want softer looking ends of your hair, theyll fix it probaly/
