Why would an Omnipotent God be so petty that he would demand worship?

Indeed ...

WHY would a supreme being, perfect and fulfilled in every way and therefore without needs or desires, create something less than himself, unless he was a psychopath?

A true 'god' worth bowing to would NOT require it.

If YOU were able to manufacture some sort of living being, would you require it to worship you, glorify you, incessantly utter your name, build buildings dedicated to you, ask you for all sortsa STUFF or give thanks to you ... day in, day out, ad nauseam, endlessly?

Of course not; it's a ludicrous proposition

This is my response to christians who believe that god demands me to worship him.

When that god proves himself worthy to me,and gives me reason for worship then and only then,will i worship him.

Surely if we are truly grateful, there's no need for ceremonies etc because god should already know?

god is the human ego. Man has never worshiped anything but himself.

If there is really an omnipotent being, why was his first act in the vast universe to create the earth 6,000 years ago. "In the begining god created the heavens and earth" Why is earth so important given there are billions of planets? It seems man wrote this story to center around himself.

god spent another couple thousand years hovering over earth surface, then he made man in his own image. Yet more man ego.

The god had to die for mans sin... As a sweet sacrifice to god... to redeem man from the wrath of god...

Then one day, an infinite god will spend the rest of his eternity in heaven living with man forever. Man will be gods bride and god will marry man.The product of human ego because he has nothing better to do in the universe with his omnipotence..

God does not need creation to worship Him. Rather, creation need to worship God. Man needs to worship God, so that he can be saved from consequences of ignorance of God. As God told Abraham,

"And I will bless those who bless you, [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you shall all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed - by you they shall bless themselves.

- Genesis 12:3

Note here God says that by knowing God, nations shall bless themselves. Its not that God hungers for mans recognition. No. But that man cannot find life, happiness, peace, prosperity, without knowing God. And knowing God, is worshiping Him.

My idea of worship is to constantly give thanks for the many blessings he has given me.

You might be thinking of the kind of self righteous pomp and ceremony that passes itself off for worship.

That is not what God our Father expects of us, just a lttle gratitude, that's not asking too much.

Only the Christian God demands warship to get into heaven. He's as insecure as the people who made him up.

Who said that it's petty? I think that worshiping an amazing god and all he has done for me is the LEAST I can do for how amazing he is and for all he has done for me.. and I think it takes a big person to be able to truly say they can let go of everything and accept that there is someone or something BIGGER than they are.
