    15x + 6 = 10x + 21

    Rearrang the equation by transposition so that like terms are together.

    15x - 10x = 21 - 6

    5x = 15 (Divide both sides by 5)

    x = 3

    Checking:

    15x + 6 = 10x + 21

    15(3) + 6 = 10(3) + 21

    45 + 6 = 30 + 21

    51 = 51 (True)

    Thus, x = 3

    Hope this helps.

    From: 15x+6=10x+21

    => 15x-10x = 21-6,

    => 5x = 15,

    => x = 15/5,

    => x = 3.

    rearrange the equation st all variables are on one side and constants on the other:

    subtract 10x from both sides:

    15x - 10x + 6 = 21

    subtract 6 from both sides:

    15x - 10x = 21 - 6

    5x = 15

    divide both sides of the equation by 5 to isolate x:

    x = 3

    check: 15x + 6 = 10x + 21

    15(3) + 6 = 45 + 6 = 51

    10(3) + 21 = 30 + 21 = 51 //

    hope this helps

    Always remember what you said: put like terms together, then remember to solve for the variable. To check your work plug in the answer you got and see if both sides are equal. Here is your answer:

    15x+6=10x+21 (subtract 6 from both sides)

    15x+6(-6)=10x+21(-6)

    15x=10x+15 (subtract 10x from both sides)

    15x(-10x)=10x(-10x)+15

    5x=15 (divide by 5)

    5x(/5)=15(/5)

    x=3

    To check your answer plug 3 in for x

    15(3)+6=10(3)+21

    45+6=30+21

    51=51

    15x+6=10x+21

    15x-10x+6=10x+21-10x

    5x+6=21

    5x+6-6=21-6

    5x=15

    x=3

    You "pass" all the X words to a minimum of one edge of equation and all the "non-X" words to the different. Step a million. pass the upload/subtract X & non-X words Step 2. integrate X words Step 3. pass multiply & divide words Rule. you may desire to do comparable math operation to the two factors of an equation. occasion: 10x +7 = 17 - 3x subtract 7 from the two factors: 10x = 10 - 3x upload 3 x to the two factors: 10x + 3x = 10 integrate 13x = 10 divide the two factors via 13: x = 10/13

    15x-10x=21-6

    5x=15

    x=15/5

    x=3/1

    x=3

    That is your answer
