Old Sony Cyber-Shot Camera Does Not Work?

Hi. My husband brought home an old Sony Cyber-Shot 2.1 Megapixel Digital Camera model DSC-F55. I can get the camera to power up, and I can use the menu functions, but the LCD display is dark and though I can "take a picture" of course the resulting picture is nothing but blackness. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it simply that the lens portion of the camera is not working? Thanks!

Salaam. It was probably dropped and caused the viewer to go blank, hook it up to see if you can retrieve the pics. If you can the it may be a quick fix if not it may need a total replacement. Go here for customer servicehttp://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=S...

It relies upon on the form/twelve months. optimal New fashions Have some geared up-in (inner) memory So, they do no longer incorporate a memory Stick. Sony Has many magnificent fashions. between the motives i like Them Is That loads of the fashions furnish A Video w/Audio that's T.V. extreme high quality (640x480 @ 30fps) So I easily have a Video digital digicam as properly as even with the reality that pictures. check the settings. does the camera have a manual mode and by any chance is it on that setting? so first make sure it's in automatic mode. Also in the menu someone could have messed with one of the settings there so i would try to do a factory reset in the menu. If you still are having those problems there might be something obstructing the lens and may have to get it looked at by a professional camera shop. I probably wouldn't get it repaired because that can get pretty pricey and you probably can get a better camera nowadays for the cost of repairing that one.
