When you do your resume should there be an objective on it?
My daughter is a dental assistant and has an objective listed on there. should she take it off? Also she has a 2 page resume. Shouldn't she make it a one page? Thanks for your help.

Since she's applying for just an assistant position, she keep it to one page. Two pages should only be executive/advanced level professionals.
And objective is not required but if you don't put that, make sure you have a clear summary of qualifications. The objective just tells your immediate goal and your summary gives your skills and how you qualify for the position.
Her objective can be "Seeking a Dental Assistant role for a prestigious, well-known practitioner's office."

An objective statement in a resume is passé.
Instead of writing an objective, write a strong summary of your experience, skills, and education, in your resume, that focuses on fulfilling the needs of the employer.
Although the "one-page rule" for a resume is not rigid, if your daughter has less than five years experience, then she should limit her resume to one page. Make sure that the resume addresses the needs of the employer.

Well, most resume should be only 1 page. The only reason you should have more than 1 page should be because you have extensive experience, that is relevant to the job, and can't fit on a sheet of paper.
Also you should not put objective on the resume, but you should instead have a cover letter that explain your objective and experience in small enough detail.

an objective? like she wants to become a dentist?
short resumes are good since most employers don't have a lot of time to read your entire history
