I want to know why people think the Eagles and/or Tom Brady will be soooooo good in 2009/10.?

The Eagles have lost a lot of power on defense, and only replaced some of it. Offensively, they have a second year WR with good speed, but he makes mental errors. I don't think their rookie WR Maclin will contribute as much as Jackson did last year. I think it's Jackson, right? I know the Eagles well, being a Cowboys fan, and I don't see anything special. Westbrook is getting older. McNabb is getting older. Their defense is top 10 but no higher than 7 this year. They will not get near the super bowl IMO. Why do you think they will?

And Tom Brady: he's missed a year. Anyone who says he's coming back better than ever is either optimistic to the extreme, or a fool. He'll be good for sure; he IS Tom Brady, and he has a good enough supporting cast to make the playoffs even if he plays like one of the Browns' busts.

    1. The eagles - the eagles are good because they find ways to win games. That's what matters. Even with all they've lost a lot of the key pieces are still in play from Andy Reid, Donovan Mcnabb, Westbrook. Their defense was never one filled with big names, but a unit that followed a game plan(alright, Dawkins was an exception). Though Jim Johnson is not there his system still remains.

    2. Tom Brady - If anything, last year proved that the success of the patriots is as much a result of the team as of Tom Brady. He won't be at 100% but Bellichik and the coaching staff will cover for him unitl he finds his rhythm again. On the other hand, the coaches weren't the ones throwing 50 TD passes in 07. That much talent finds a away to succeed no matter what

To respond to a previous answer. The Eagles tied/should have lost the game against the Bengals because one Reid called too many passes and two McNabb kept trying to throw to LJ Smith. Although the Eagles lost Johnson and Dawk, Dawk was getting old and could not defend the pass. We still have our line rotation in place with Trent Cole, a rising star, as our leader. At LB, Stewart Bradley has the potential to be the best MLB in the NFC. Our secondary has changed alot with Dawk gone, but we signed Sean Jones, a younger, more athletic version of Dawk and Rashad Baker, a good ballhawk who looks to help in our passing sets, something the Eagles had trouble with the past year.

If you say you know the Eagles well, you should know for sure that the WR we drafted last year was DeSean Jackson. Word from OTA's is that he's improved his route running significantly from last year. And I'll give you the fact that Maclin won't contribute as much as Jackson. Maclin will probably be used as a deep threat. We have other WR's other than those two. Kevin Curtis, who's looking good coming off an injury. Jason Avant, arguably our best slot WR. Don't be surprised if he catches 60 balls this year. Hank Baskett, the goal line threat whose married to a Playboy Playmate. Everyone knows that DM5 is one of the top QB's in the league and though he's declining, Westbrook is still one of the best HB's in the NFL. Our O-line has gotten better with the acquisitions of Jason Peters and Stacy Andrews, brother of Shawn Andrews, who's coming back this year from depression, which he says he's rid himself of and a bad back.

And Brady will be good again due to his O-Line, Welker, Moss, and the offensive scheme they run.

I dont think anyone can remeber the last playoff win the cowboys had besides your pretty easy to forget that 44-6 blow out so you have to win first and the cowboys havent done that the eagles are years ahead of the cowboys the have upgraded every position that had questions granted the giants might still be better and you cant knock bradys talent he's on another scale all his own and this year pats r better than the 07 on paper

the eagles wont be as dangerous on defense because of the loss of Free Safety Brian Dawkins. but their line backers are fast and play with intensity. as for the offense they have added security at running back in Lesaun McCoy for if and when westbrook goes down. and their recieving core with kevin curtis and desaun jackson plus jeremy maclin who can only help.

As for Tom Brady well I'm not a big fan of his or of the Patriots in General but I'll give credit where credit is due, the man is good. and he still has WR's Randy Moss and Wes Welker and a solid offensive line he wont have 50 youchdowns again but should be on track for at least 30-35 and some where between 4000-4500 yards remember the patriots dont run the ball so much as use the short passing games as their run game.

Tom brady was elite coming into last year, and everyone is assuming that he will return to form. For the eagles, they have always been a halfway decent team, but saying they are the BEST is stupidity because they really have not done much lately. Last year they tied with the bengals who finished 4-11-1. So the best team should be able to beat the teams that they are supposed to.
