You're not going to win this argument. private schools actually do very well academically, and this is where our concern should be.

looks like you got a lot of good answers. what i noticed is academically there is a change in the grades. our schools were not doing well and a lot of changes were made. went as far as no field trips. it puts everyone at the same life level therefore it is easier to concentrate on schoolwork. grades went up. hopefully they can keep them up. there are way less fights.
i hate looking for the right uniform, since i have a daughter..and i cheat i go with the colors. it is our public schools that wear the uniforms.. our private schools don't have the dress code. kids complain about it but watching them at school, they really do not worry about what they are wearing.

Not only is it to keep children focused on their studies but also to avoid inappropriate attire. My school required buttoned polo shirts or a full collared sweater and knee length skirt or dress pants. No make-up or jewelry was allowed either.
When I got to High School I had no idea how to coordinate an outfit though. Haha BUT I definitely dress more conservatively since having that style of dress embedded subconsciously in my brain since I was four years old.
So all in all I would say I was grateful for the uniform.

Uniforms are put in place so that the students will be less worried about what they wear and be more focused of school. If every one is wearing the same thing then fasion is not a distraction.

IT might help keep their mind on spelling. by the way a privet is a out- door toilet; and a war is a conflict, usually with deadly results.

so you kids STOP comparing what the others are wearing, you all look alike so you can think about what you're learning instead of what your friends are wearing! So nobody is made fun of if their family doesn't have as much money as other families! So YES it is fair, besides, nobody EVER told you life would be fair!

I have to wear one, i go to public. It isn't fair and they can distract someone as well as clothes can.
