Have you ever made a ham in a crockpot?

If you have, what differences are there in the cook times? Do you have any other hints about how to go about this process and any tips you might have?

It is too hot to bake it in the oven.

Update:

Thank you all for such good answers.

Crock pot is my favorite way to prepare my ham.

When I make it, I score it first in diamond shapes then cover it with a mix of equal parts brown sugar and mustard. Sometimes I pin pineapple and cherries to it with cloves but I don't usually go to the trouble. I'll cook it on low all day while I'm work (or on holidays we do the same and just have to think about it all day) and it just melts in your mouth. Add about an inch of water in the bottom of the crock.

If it's already cooked then only an hour or so on high till thoroughly heated. If it's a fresh ham, it will probably be a full 4 hours on high or even 6 if it's on the large side. Add some apple juice or orange juice concentrate with some water or stock. Season with black pepper or other spices.

Since ham is smoked, therefore already cooked, just throw it in on low for 3-4 hrs.

yes i have, i actually prefer to do my hams in the slow cooker, it works wonders, but you have to take some precautions as well, make sure you have plenty of fluid but not too much maybe 1/2s cup worth to 3/4 cup worth, and usually i go about 2 or 3 hours per pound on low, but i always do the first hour on high, but yes you can do it and use your normal recipe as well
