I kind of know what you mean, I have the same sort of Insomnia thing (must be the speed), but it's symptoms manifest in Double entendre's, and then my pronunciation starts to suffer. Anyway, pondering your question last night, I found it "really hard" to get to sleep, I did "get off" eventually, but I awoke with an unusually stubborn "inflection". (Took me all morning to "beat it" too!)

I really don't know about dog though, there's so many of them and they can't all be the true dog.
