All the above answers are the same, and it's how I figure mine.
One thing to remember: the number you get at the end is your actual mpg. If you drive only on the highway, you get highway mpg. If only in town, you get city mpg. Driving as you normally do will give you your average.

- Fill up your gas tank all the way.
- Press your trip meter so it's at zero (the button under your odometer that counts up your miles). Make sure you don't touch it!
- Drive the car normally until the tank is down as low as you can without running the risk of running out of gas (just for the most accurate estimate)
- When you get gas, fill your tank all the way full and keep your gas reciept. Before you drive off, mark on the receipt what your trip meter says.
- Go home and divide the miles on your trip meter by the gallons of gas on your receipt. This will give you a pretty good estimate.

Get a full tank of gas and reset the Trip Odometer to zero. The next time you fill up get another full tank of gas. Divide the amount of miles on the Trip Odometer by the number of gallons you put in your tank to get it full again. The resulting answer is your mpg.

Fill the tank all the way up.
Reset the trip meter
Drive
Refill the tank all the way up.
Divide the miles driven by the amount of fuel you needed to fill back up.
Mi/gal=mpg
It's not an exact method, but it's pretty close.

It should be in the owners manual but to really check the mpg fill ur tank all the way up and see how many miles it runs. There might be other ways that are easier. just answering random questions.....
