how do i get more torque out of my truck?

I have a 1989 gmc half ton truck with a 4.3 v6 and a 5 speed trans. without changing the motor how can i get more power for climbing hills and towing ? I have already installed a edelbrock intake , throttle body spacer , free flowing exhaust , k&n air filter and a performance computer chip. I was thinking about changing rear end gearing. thanks for your thoughts

Update:

my current motor is a 20,000 mile remand unit

changing the gearing would deff give it more torque other than that idk you've pretty much done everything you can other than dropping a new motor in it

Changing the gears will help some. When you put the exhaust on did you get headers too? I'm sure you know the real problem is just the motor is under powered for that size of a truck. A 350 will bolt in place of the 4.3 though.

changing the gearing would probably be the cheapest option just remember if it is 4 wheel drive, if you change the rear you have to change the front too, other than that it is time to start sinking money into your heads, but this is going to be expensive and before I did that I would consider buying a 5.7. but gearing is for sure cheaper and will add plenty of torque depending on what gear you put in it, however keep in mind you will lose top end and turn higher rpms compared to your stock gearing eating up fuel mileage
