Do conservatives hear what we hear?
it's kind of funny... when you listen to Obama speak...
and then listen to a conservative talk about what he heard...
you hear Obama say "I gave the children candy, they loved it"
conservatives hear "I hate children's teeth and actively support force-feeding children candy until all their teeth rot out"
I mean, spin is one thing... but it's just rediculous...
every time I go check what Republicans say "Obama said"... it's always WAY off... or WAY out of context...
I hear Obama say "Nazis were horrible and we should all be glad that America soldiers were strong and the nazi threat was eliminated and now we need to keep the American ideas alive in the future..."
they hear Obama say "Nazis ... were strong... and we need to keep their ideas alive in the future"
I mean, this happens in politics, but I'm not sure I've ever seen it to quite this degree...
nice job of ignoring the question and trying to change the subject... to of all things... my spelling...
clearly, you're highly educated... HAHAHAH
that's really the old way of conservative thinking... the "buy votes" thing... I can kind of see that... sure...
it's much more extreme and nonsensical now...

It is funny I hear like wise spin put on what Bush said by liberals. Both sides spin but since I rarely listen to the nastiest one on the conservative side I never heard what you said the talk radio host said.
I do agree both sides are now trying to buy votes with new entitlements. I'm still looking for a President that can articulate a vision on creating wealth in the world & is at least as conservative as JFK & Martin Luther King. Too bad for the U.S. both parties today are more liberal than the 2 individuals I just sighted.
Also most of our so called leaders lack the intellect to create wealth or fight their way out of a paper bag.

Yes. The consonants and vowels are in the right places, but the ones that were "educated" during the Reagan and Bush Sr. times need demagogues like Rush Lumpaugh, Glenn Bunk, and Calamity Hannity, to tell them what to think.
The Repugnicons are on the run... that's why they can only react to Obama's policies. They don't have any ideas of their own, they can only try to tear down Obama's ideas, and, failing that, slander Obama as a person. The Republican "leadership" have been acting like a bunch of whiny children since the election. They were big contributors to the present mess, and they need to adult up and work to solve the problems, not sit in the middle of the floor and hold their breath until their faces turn blue.
They're having a temper tantrum, and it's getting ugly. The "birthers," who are even more stupid than PETA, don't seem to realize that they are hurting their cause. The GOP, who were the ones that started the dumba** rumour, are now trying to distance themselves from the silliness.
To answer your question - NO. They don't hear much of anything, other than the first phrase or two of a sentence, then they go off to the garage to start making signs and plan some half a**ed protest they call "tea parties." They're egged on by morons like Glenn Bunk, and that Hannity clown. That's all they hear, and unfortunately, that's all they'll learn.
Generally, listening and learning mean change; by definition, conservatives don't want change, so they only pretend to listen.
Republicans, and the people who claim they are, have tried to raise a culture of fear in recent years; it is not in their best interests if they were to say everything is going to be OK. So it may be that it's not because they don't hear, they can afford hearing aids, they just don't give a s*** what you think. They have their agenda, and it's not necessarily in your best interests. Money's the game here.

I agree with most of that. But the neo-conservatives out the ones that we may have no choice to elect other then liberals right now. Conservatives have for a long time held the power in Congress and they lost because they got complacent and Bush screwed up. The country is still relatively conservative. To take back this country we need to stop having a pissy fit over war we may not like or agree with and stop electing moderate liberals who side with their party on important issues.

What you need to understand is what Obama is pushing for is not constitutional and is morally wrong. We cannot afford these kinds of programs, and this will push us toward more debt.
In 1913, when the income tax was set up, it was supposed to only tax the top 1% of the wage earners.
Social security was supposed to be temporary, again, paid for by the top 1%.
Medicare was paid for when it started, but now I'm taxed for it again.
Gas taxes are supposed to pay for new road and maintenance, but it took a stimulus package to get my roads fixed.
Do you see a pattern here? I believe Obama was elected for change, but the constitution doesn't need to be changed. Government needs to be changed. I thought Obama had the balls to slap the corrupt congressmen, but I thought Bush had balls too.
So when I here any government official telling me "I'm here to help", or "trust me, this will pay for itself", I hear "I'm here to grow my power base and insure my re-election, what kind of lip service can I give you. I'll make you believe I plan to do something, but I'll just go back to my office and share a cigar with my intern... unless you're politically connected.
Source(s): Common sense... stop playing their game! It's time to take back our government before they ruin us all! - How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

what you THINK conservatives hear and what we actually hear are two different things-you hear Obama say 'i gave the children candy' and we SAW him steal it from someone else
you hear 0bama say 'we need to pass this (fill in the blanks with bloated budget busting pork) legislation NOW' and your hearts go pitapat, while we hear 0bama complaining back in 2004 that bush was pushing thru legislation without giving the congress sufficient time to read and debate-and we SEE bills of thousands of pages and hundreds of billions of dollars being voted on, signed, and enacted into law without anyone ever reading them
we actually do HEAR 0bama-we've heard him say such gems as: 'typical white person', 'white folks greed', 'bitter, clinging to guns and religion'...'we're out of money NOW!"(which was back in may, about a trillion taxpayer dollars ago) 'i can't ban guns because i don't have the votes', 'punished with a baby', 'this is the moment when the planet began to heal and the oceans stopped rising'...and we wonder what it is about this goofball that makes the left's collective leg go all tingly

No they don't Ex Rayne Storm took a fictitious quote and turned it into words that Obama actually said. That alone shows that some people cant contemplate or understand the written word leading to misconstrued statements. BTW who translates the bible
- Anonymous1 decade ago
No, they do not. I think they live in an alternate reality where there is also a guy named President Obama, because the way they represent his actions and words bear no resemblance whatsoever to my president.

The cons you refer to are not and shouldn't be considered Americans. They don't believe in free and open elections and they don't believe in Majority rule thus they don't believe in democracy. Though dropping in numbers considerable they should still be completely ignored since they have no intention of ever being American there agenda is to make everyone but themselves slaves to cooperation's.

How hard would it be to give ACTUAL examples?
I hear Obama talk about "change".... no specifics.
I hear Obama talk about "COMPREHENSIVE Change"... no specifics
I hear Obama asked questions about legislation that he's supporting... and can't answer ONE question about it, because it's clear he hasn't read it.

Apparently we don't since we didn't fall for his crap like you did.
I don't know where you came up with your so called "quotes" and answers, but it looks more like that is all you hear yet don't hear what is really being said.
All I know is I heard Obama say things like. "We must pass this stimulus NOW, or employment will go over 8%". Hmmm well? it's headed over 10%.
What did you hear when he said that?
