My daughter is 5 week pregnant - she has low progesterone and needs a medicine?

If you know anything about this - please share it with me. She is very scared right now.

Update:

I want to thank you both so very much for answering my question. It meant alot to me and to my daughter, I wish I could pick you both as best answer. I wish you and your families all the best always. Take good care, and thank you again.

I started taking them about 4 weeks ago at 5.5 weeks pregnant because my prog. was low. The levels jumped right up to normal level within a few days. The most important # is the hcg. I was nervous too, but saw a strong heartbeat via u/s the other day. I am staying on them until week 13. Don't be nervous. She'll be fine. There is no harm to the mother or baby in taking them. Good luck.

When a pregnant woman has low progesterone, the practitioner generally prescribes a vaginal progesterone suppository that helps by building up the uterine lining (which is progesterone's main function in early pregnancy). Some women need intramuscular injections of progesterone in a thick oil; this is done only if the levels show the vag. suppositories aren't absorbing well. It's not that unusual and I had to do the injections with my last two pregnancies. Congrats on being a grandma and best wishes for good health of your daughter and preborn baby!
