how do you connect a new xbox 360 controller to the xbox 360?

1. First turn on both your Xbox and Controller

2. Press the small button on the console first underneath (or beside depending on which way you set it up mine is vertical) the two memory ports, directly beside (or on top of) the disk drive.

3. Press the small button on the Xbox controller (quickly after)

The rings on both the Xbox 360 and controller should be spinning, repeat this until they both flash and the controller displays which controller it is (the ring will only be illuminated in one quarter indicating first, second, third or fourth controller)

While the xbox 360 is on, I think you press the small button on the controller, and the small button on the 360 within a second or two of each other. That will "sync them up". On the 360, that small button is below the memory card slots.

You press/slightly hold the big ol X on it right in the middle

this will automatically turn on the Xbox 360 itself if it isnt already turned on (kind of a cool feature, i use it all the time now)

if it's wired, you can connect it to the front plate under the Power Circle there is a hidden slot for two usb slot.

there is also another usb slot in the back, but who would want to plug in the controller from the back?

try new batteries if the controller already turns on but the 360 doesnt find it press a small white circular button on the front of the 360 then press then other small white circular button on the controller this time next to the place where u plug in the chatting keyboard into the controller its on the front where left and right triggers r

turn on the xbox 360

press that little botton infront of the controller and there is a small botton infront of the xbox 360 like in the controller and press that one 2 and it should work.

while your press the little button on the top of the controller and the light is spinning, there is the same kind of button on the 360 next to the memory card slots. the lights on the 360 will spin too and they will read each others signal.
