In search of diamonds?

So I would like to pick up the hobby of diamond hunting but most the information I have found seems to involve that 'one' park or giant corporations. What are some simple tips? Are they way down in the ground beneath a forest? Are they in river beds? What do I look for being that their unfinished? Are they potentially anywhere? Or only in certain areas of the world? Clay? Gravel? Sand?

Diamonds are mostly found in mines however huge corporations already own the rights to these mines

The largest diamond mine producer is the Argyle mine in Australia

I suggest you search for gold instead because it usually appears with every rainbow, just at the end of the rainbow
