I've been getting cold sores on my lip ever since I was little. They come about once a year. I was wondering if this was contagious by kissing or by sex only neither? I know I got it from my dad because he gets them, and I had my first before kissing anybody

herpes is very contagious and on top of that they are only treatable not curable!

Herpes Cold Sores on your lips can be transmitted anywhere you kiss someone. They will develop soars. HSV- 1
Herpes on the genitalia is called HSV- 2 and is highly contagious.
Both Herpes types are contagious approximately 5 days before you have any symptoms or show.
Yes, if you kiss someone they can get the sore where ever you kiss them.
Most people think a cold sore on the lip is no big deal....get a few lesions on your breast or your testicles and then let's see if it's still no big deal.
