Getting residency in Canada (for college)...?

I am a US student, what would it take to get residency in canada say in toronto or vancouver, so that i can gain the benefits of the reduced price for getting into U of T or UBC?

    You can't. You would have to be resident in Canada for at least a year, and you cannot become resident until you have some education.

    Fair enough - why should you, an American, be subsidised by Canada for a cheaper education?

    to become a resident you must be a skilled worker
