Why don't the judges on So You Think You Can Dance blame the right people?

Theres been a few dances this year that were really amazing. But I agree..I think I just have high standards from past seasons. Season 3 was my absolute favorite and literally every show was filled with dances I loved. Oh well.

The judges can't really blame the choreographers though..they have a few times (like with Russian folk dance, wtf?)..but I mean if they insult the choreographers work then they're not gonna come back. No choreographers no show.

I've watched the show since season one and love it. I know it's a show to open every ones eyes to different styles of dance. They do some pretty amazing things, especially when most of them aren't trained dancers and do dances that are far from their style. I do like some of the routines, but I've noticed that some of the routines are like a kiss of death. Kapuano (spelling ?) did that Russian dance. Maybe people didn't vote for him because of that particular dance style. It's nice that they show us all the different styles and cultural dances, but I think some of them hurt the dancers chance for votes. There is that one ballroom style (some sort of waltz I think) that people don't seem to do well with or they do dance it well and the crowd just doesn't like it. They may have danced it very well, good technique etc, but if it didn't stand out the people aren't going to vote for it. I do miss the hip-hop type routines from Shane Sparks and Dan Carity (spelling ?). I wish they would come back.

I think Travis Wall's routine that he choreographed was awesome. I don't know anything about dance, but it was really, really good. There have been a few good ones, but think last year and the year before had quite a few more that were real standouts.

I completely agree with you!!!! Last season was sooo much better and it annoys me when Nigel kisses up to the choreographers every single time and then bashes the contestants especially Evan. He's not my favorite dancer, but i can tell he tries hard and they always have something bad to say.

I think this season's dancers aren't my favorite because the choreography doesn't help that much. Last season Twitch, who we all knew wasn't the best at everything, but was still lovable, was given awesome choreography. I think a lot of the dancers were restricted this season especially Ade who always had to accommodate to Melissa's ballerina dancing.
