I want to know if someone is married legally or not?
Are marriage licenses publicly posted in the state of Texas and how would I legally go about getting this information

Go to vital statistics and find out. I think just like birth and death records you can see marriage records too.
I don't think you can get copies of licenses unless you can prove you are a relative and what purpose you need it for but I think you can find out if they are legally married or not.

Marriages are generally posted in the newspaper announcements.
Pending marriages have to be announced in advance in case some one may have reason the marriage should not take place.
You may be able to do a background check on the person.
You can do some searches on a person from your own computer just by entering their name and address in the web search window.
It may get results from public records only or it may not get any results.
Birth and death certificates cannot be accessed directly.
You have to have a valid legal reason to get copies of them.
