Can anyone give me some legal adive for dogs?
So we bought a boxer i fought with the breeders for over a year now to get registration. they were suppose to be registered but they gave all the other puppies but mine away. i want to register my male, but his mother isn't registered bc they didnt have the 15 dollars at the time. AKC said call the attorney general and i did, however he doesn't return my calls, or emails and i'm sick of talkin to sec. My lawyer said we have enough to press charges in the case b/c he was malnurished and went to the pund before we picked him up. he didnt even have shots, food, we also had to take him to th vet. what can we do?
it was suppose to say advice. sorry
The worse part is that it was someone i knew. A family remember. I refuse to pay 80 to register her dog and then 100 to register my dog and the other pups and another 80 to register mine if i cant keep her dog
they wont pay for her to be registered they want me to do it. the guy installs ingroud pools n doesnt have 80 dollars...

we bought him at 5 weeks.
the breeder wouldnt let me take him until 10 weeks (which i had to pick him up at the pound). he'd been to the vet b/c he was bone n skin because he had worms, n then sent to the pound b/c he was small

After all this time I doubt you can do anything. This is why people on here say a zillion times a day to people who are looking for puppies:
"Do not go to BYB's but go to REPUTABLE show breeders"
You should have made sure the puppy and the parents were registered before purchase. I find your statement confusing when you say:
"My lawyer said we have enough to press charges in the case b/c he was malnurished and went to the pund before we picked him up. "
Did you in fact buy the puppy from the breeder or acquire the dog from a "pound" or rescue shelter? If the latter, you have absolutely no right to registration documents.

You obviously purchased the dog as a pet so therefore registration certificates will not change the quality of your pet, just forget it or spend a lot of money chasing it for nothing. It will not change your dog.
You would only need registration if you wanted to breed and I am sure you would not want to become another BYB by doing that and risking your pet's life to boot??

the dogs mother had no papers.. if she was not registered at the time the puppies were born, then the puppies can NOT be registered..
You may as well forget about getting the dog registered.. besides, the only reason to register is for showing and breeding.. your dog isnt a breeding quality dog anyways.
At best, if you paid the breeder money for the dog, you may be able to take to small claims to demand a partial refund... but good luck with that... unless you have a signed contract stating that the dog was to come with registration papers, you may be out of luck.
If you can show that you purchased the pup from the breeder, but then had to pay money again to collect the dog from the shelter, and then vet bills to get this pup healthy because the breeder failed to neglect the pup while it was in her care, you may be able to file against her for your cost of pulling the dog from the shelter, plus the vet bills that are related to the incident.. however you need to be able to show proof of this.
Buying dogs is a "buyer beware" market.. if you get ripped off, you really dont have much legal recourse.

I'm going to ask a stupid question, but is it too late for them to register her now or would that not make any difference to getting registration for your dog? Maybe that is a question for the AKC ( sorry I don't know their rules...not my KC)
If he was sold to you as AKC registered then you have a case against them if he turns out not to have been or they can't put it right, so sue them, do what your lawyer says if he/she thinks you have a case.........but make sure they can pay because even if you win, if they can't pay it will cost you your lawyer, court costs and you will have fought for nothing....and from the sound of things this is not a good breeder, which is why you don't buy from these types of people................ever!

Now you know not to buy from a BYB. Just because the dog is registered does not mean squat. There is not much you can do to be honest.
