i give all the time to the people who sleep on the ground. It gets cold at night and most of the time I throw away tons of loot on the dumbest things.

I've been approached by people begging for money many times.

I almost never give money (that's partially because I almost never carry cash.) If a person is homeless, money isn't what they need. It's food, or clothing, or something else.

I always offer to buy them a meal. I take them to (or meet them at) a place where I can make sure they have all they need, or buy them a gift card that will continue to allow them to have food.

About half the time, my offer is refused. A great many people asking for money aren't in need of food or anything else; they're looking for money.

It's unjust to give them money to soothe my conscience while assisting them in obtaining alcohol or drugs to further their own problem.

My Husband is a truck driver and has had many people ask for money. He has given' money to some but uses his best judgment to determine if they need it for the wrong reasons. He will sit and talk to them awhile and even offer food that he has on the truck instead of cash. I remember one woman particularly and she had several children she asked for money for her camera so she could feed her children and she excepted groceries instead and was very thankful so he gave her some cash as well.

He has prayed with some people and encouraged them when in need.

I'd give him some money, but my brothers teacher had a "homeless" person sleepover at his house, and when he came back from work the next day, ALL of his things were gone... So I don't know, I guess.

If I have it, I will give them money, many times they have to pay to be in a shelter these days. Not all of the good shelters are free any more.

EDIT: The Bible tells us that when we entertain strangers, we could be entertaining angels. Jesus said that when we do anything to the least of the brethren, we are doing it unto Him.

It depends on whether or not the Holy Spirit moves me to give.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I prefer to give my time (and money) to Rescue Atlanta. RA is a homeless out reach.

Oftentimes will I ask and get an answer.

For instance, one time a woman asked me for money and I said no.

The Holy Spirit nagged at me until I went back and gave her some.

Remember that not everyone who asks for money is actually homeless or in need of money.

I always help out brothers and sisters. I will stop in the middle of an intersection at a green light and give them money.

If I have money on me I'd help. It's the right thing to do. You never know

the story of how the got there.

Remember that you have everything that you need and most of the things that you actually want

And remember that the homeless person doesn't have what he wants and hardly has anything that he actually needs

Your life is perfect compared to his. Some money is the least you could give him.
