Should British Teenagers that commit crimes be forced to do National Service?

Nowadays, not a day goes by in the UK where a teenager hasnt killed, stabbed, beaten up etc. It is only getting worse and worse and I think part of the problem is that there is no real harsh punishments given out and teenagers just don't have much to do with their time. I see alot of teens who have no respect for anyone or anything and i am scared of them when i walk down the street. Decades ago teens were alot more mature, they had responsibilities, should kids that just won't stop committing crimes just be forced to do national service, that would surely make them grow up, take responsibility and could maybe help shape them into better people that otherwise they wouldnt have done?

No it is up to the older generation to take charge of the situation ,the Gov have no idea what they have created and the police gave up long ago (whats the point of arresting someone if a judge will just let them go)

I suggest we start by finding these lads involved in the bleach attack at Frankie & Benny's . Take them somewhere nice and quite then systematically break every bone in there bodies . The following days headlines should read -

ADULTS CAN WEAR HOODIES TOO , SO WATCH OUT !

National service yes - if this was living in a camp with army style discipline and training and including working for the community. It should not mean going into the army and fighting - although this could be an option the teenagers could choose after finishing their time at the camp.

No one should be forced to join an army. No one has the right to order a human being to kill another human being unless there is choice about entering an armed service.

As far as I am aware the British army is a professional organisation that could do without be turned into a scallie dumping ground, so No, I don't think this would be a good idea.

Society has to take ownership of the actions of all. You need to ask why people do as they do, whats lacking? Problem is people know whats lacking but its too expensive, too political and too socially incorrect to fix. Its easier to pass the blame, from the media to the home environment.

No , why should the armed services put up with people like that ?. Decades ago teens had Mums and Dads that cared for them and knew right from wrong. They were brought up properly to respect other people. We had a society that respected young people and provided education support, work fair pay and shelter.

no, just create a society where jobs and the future of the world is always the question. this socity is here to make money for other people and we are born into it and forced to do someone's bidding. most of the world is a slave to a selected few. if only everyone decided that we would work on the human race instead of destroying it. we would be speaking to aliens and be like star trek by now if only every1 wasnt a fukin greedy ****

Well, it's certainly an idea. It would teach them respect, but I think it would be better adressing the cause of the lack of respect, like bringing proper punishments back into schools. That way we ensure that the next generation of teenagers don't grow up as badly as this one.

In some cases I think that the parents parenting is a direct result of the childs behavior. So, I think that some parents need to be punished for the way their child acts. But, on the other end of the spectrum, some parents do everything for their children, from being involved in every thing from day to day activities to punishing when the child does something wrong. So, ultimately, I think its something that would have to be judged on a case by case basis.

Well you think its safe putting a disgruntled teen into the service

in direct available to guns and ammo or vehicles in the service

since they didnt hold reverance to the public in the first. I think not.

Prison and hard time clean up road gangs in chains very good.

    cheers

If you think National Service is a good idea, and I think that there may be some merits in it, then you should not limit it to juvenile criminals, it should be for the whole population, both rich and poor, good and bad.

No it wouldn't work. A far better idea would be to stop any benefits that the parents receive for these young thugs until they take parental responsibility and control their feral offspring.
