How much does a gym membership cost?
I want to join a gym but before i go i want to know how much its going to cost me per month? I was looking into 24/7 but I couldnt find prices online. So i was wondering if anyone has a monthly membership and knows how much it might cost me.

They can really vary...my club has a one-time fee, plus a variety of plans (paying for one year up front, pay each month for a year, pay by months you want to use the facility and a lifetime membership). Contact facilities in your area and check them out....quality places will allow you to tour the building, but run very fast from high-pressure sales tactics...the gym should sell itself to you.

I was talking to a guy that had recently been hired to a Gold's Gym and he stated that military personnel have different rates, as well as students at the nearby university. Also, he stated that they had some negotiation room with the monthly price as well. However, apparently there was a required 12-month contract attached. I think they said it was normally about $30 or so, but for $49 you get unlimited tan, towels, and classes. Sooo... just like any good salesman, they will negotiate to get you to sign. But, I do say they generally have very nice facilities for the money.

i use Planet Fitness and it's a great gym!
The cost is a one-time start up fee of around $45 and then it's just $20 a month.

It depends on the gym, if they have a pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, etc...
Where I go, the YMCA (they have everything), it's $45 for an adult, $65 for a family, $52 for a single Parent Family, $37 for a Senior Adult (65+), $51 for a Senior Family (65+), $24 for a Young Adult (13-23), $10 for Metro Youth.

if you're looking for a cheap membership, planet fitness is the way to go. they have many weight and cardio machines for only 20 dollars a month, and a one time fee (100 dollars). They do offer trainers, they may cost additional money, but im not sure since ive never used one. they also dont offer any classes, but have massage chairs and tanning.
