What is a reliable scooter that will top out at 40mph for @2,500.00. I'm in Ohio so we need a mtrcycle endors?

First off, with a top speed of 40 mph, you are talking about a 49cc motor. That 40 mph is TOP SPEED, meaning under ideal conditions such as level surface and no wind, you may reach 40 mph. If you drive into a head wind or up a grade, knock off another 5 - 10 mph. If you are a heavy person, it may top out at 35 mph. If you plan on adding a passenger, you may be lucky to get up to 30 mph under ideal conditions. If you have to drive the scooter wide open throttle all the time to keep up with traffic, this is really stressful to the motor and it will not last long.

The Yamaha Vino has a small seat and two small people can ride two up. However, if you intend to ride two up a lot, you really should look at getting the Yamaha Vino 125cc or look at other 150cc brands. The larger motor can handle the weight and keep your speed up. they are a little bigger, but a yamaha majesty would be perfect. they are meant for 2 people and will be able to take on freeways. they will be a little more pricey than the ones you mentioned but if you get a used one, it will be cheaper. used doesnt always means beat up either and used will always be cheaper.
