Is this a violation of my gun rights?

I really want to protect myself in the Capital Building. Why can't I bring my gun in there? Why don't pro-gun congressmen want to meet my gun? I should be able to protect myself anywhere so why won't all these congressmen who claim to love guns as much as myself let me protect myself with a GUN where they work during the day? Are they afraid I'll shoot them?

Update:

But I'm a law-abiding citizen =(

Update 2:

Obviously, I'm being sarcastic. Jeez, why won't trolls visit any of my questions?

Yes they are afraid. And they should be. Any maniac walking around with a gun everywhere he goes (grocery store, mall, capitol building) talking about protecting himself either needs to leave drug trafficking and the mafia alone, or go to a psych ward and ask for some paranoia medicine.

And Brainiac, capital with an A means money and capitol with an O is what you are talking about.

  • While you have a right to "bear arms", you don't have the right to take them everywhere. Cities, states and towns have made carry ordinances and individual businesses and places of employment are free to make restrictions for their own reasons.

In other words, just because you have a right to do something, doesn't mean you always have the right to do it 24/7. You have a protected "right of reproduction" apparently too, but you can't do it on Main St.

I think you should run down to the capital building right now and make sure to be waving your gun around! Demand to be let in!

OF COURSE they're afraid you'll shoot them! Silly goose.

There are lots of places you can't bring firearms...

Schools, Restaurants that serve alcohol...bars, Government Buildings, and any private property where it is prohibited.

I'm all for gun rights, but i'm also for common sense.....

bad tastes dude. Really the sarcasm is not funny at all in yours, too many good people have died because of criminals bring guns into the court house and killing guards, judges, and lawyers.

No just like it is not a violation of your first Amendment rights if you get arrested for shouting fire in a crowded theater when there isn't one.

That's really not funny, because a few years ago a security guard was shot and killed in the Capitol building.

I would guess that its common knowledge that guns aren't allowed in Govt. buildings.

    I'm a gun owner also.

No. There is no specific right granted to carry weapons without restriction
