Really good sing.
Now, take it from 7.2 to 6.2 in another four week, and you WILL avoid taking medicine.
To PROVE that you can control the diabetes with diet and exercise alone, you need to KEEP the A1C UNDER 7, and preferably under 6.
But remember -- You ARE DIABETIC. THAT fact won't change. So you now face a life-time struggle -- you against the A1C test. You CAN beat it, but you can NEVER stop trying.
Keep that A1cC UNDER 7, and as close to 6 as possible.

congrats on decreasing your Hb A1C - I'm assuming you've done it with exercise and healthy diet. I'm assuming you have type II, I like your attitude toward diabetes. Let a good diet and exercise take you as far as it can, continue to monitor your daily blood sugar levels and Hb A1C every 3 months, and hopefully you can push it down even further. Keep up the good work, keep an open mind to meds down the track if you really do end up needing them, but taking responsibility for your own health with diet and exercise is the best option

That is good but not good enough to not have to take meds. Why are you afraid of the meds? They make life a whole lot simpler. It is so much easier to plan meals if one takes the meds that aid the body in regulating the glucose and insulin levels.
If you are not going to take meds then go on a straight protein food plan and quadruple your exercise levels.
