College dorms question?

Generally colleges have policies against changing roommates within the academic year unless there is a very valid reason for doing so. You can always contact the residence life office at Central Michigan to ask them this question, but the likelihood is that you will have to wait until next year before you can room with your friend, unless you and the roommate pair can agree to make a swap BEFORE the semester begins (ie. before everyone hauls their stuff into their assigned rooms).

I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but sometimes not being able to room with a friend is a blessing in disguise. A lot of kids I know who chose their freshmen (or first) roommate ended up on really bad terms with that former friend by the end of the year. Sometimes when you're rooming with a friend, you realize it's too much of a good thing...you realize you're spending way too much time with that person and you want your space.

If you want to room with your friend year after next, you will probably be better off, because by that point, you will be more used to sharing a room with someone who's not family.

Craigslist cuz that is extra low-value. And IKEA is actual low-value for some cool stuff. additionally, The field save. And a bathtub caddy and turn flops are a could desire to. And earplugs in case you dorm with somebody.

The policy that I've found is that if everyone agrees, go for it. Meaning if you have a roomate and your friend has a roomate and all four roomates agree to switching, it's all gravy.
