I do not like abortions, I would never get one. But yes I would keep them legal because anyone who thinks that women did not get them before are fooling themselves. How many of you who have a true family history have story's of Grate Aunt Mary who sat on some scissor and could never have kids, or When Grandma talks about when her and her three siblings stood out side of an ally wile mom talked to a doctor. I do historian diary's and these story's are ramped and many many woman got sick, lost the ability to have children or died because of them. They go back so far that woman didn't even have a word for them.

I oppose abortion as a means of birth control..

I support abortion as a right of all women to make their own reproductive choices.

When abortions were illegal.... .they still happened.... the only difference was you had to be rich in order to get a safe abortion from a clandestine doctor in a safe environment. The law really only affected the poor.

To get a good understanding of societies outlook on abortion "then" and "now"...... go to the movie store and rent the early 80's movie, Dirty Dancing... pay attention to what happens during the abortion scene.

Also, since abortion only affects women, I can't fathom why so many anti-abortion MEN, would seek to impose a blanket law that they will never be subject to.....hardly seems fair.

Good question. I am pro-life, but I understand a total ban on abortion is not feasible. If I could write the law, I would make abortion legal in cases of rape, incest, in girls below a certain age, if the life of the mother was at risk, or if there was serious birth defects to the fetus that would result in no quality of life. I would leave it up to doctors to determine if the risk to mothers and fetuses was severe enough - I would not put the government in charge of that. I realize that would lead to certain level of abuse, but I think it would be the best solution.

There's no such thing as a safe abortion. Abortion puts women at risk for breast, and cervical cancer, infections, fertility problems, miscarriages, premature births, depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, and sadly suicide.

Yes, I do. I also support taxing it to stop it from becoming commonplace.
