Christians, How important is it that you NOT sin?

Well it puts a gap between us and God. Because we're going against his law. But he understans when we make mistakes. Because we're only human.

It is extremely important. Although Christians are in no danger of ever being sent to Hell, sin is serious business. Why would we continue to do the things that hurt us and hurt our Savior, when we have been given the ability to lead a better life? There is no condemnation for us in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8) Jesus is currently engaged in keeping us saved, (Hebrews 6-10 all together in context). The Holy Spirit is the down payment on our inheritance in heaven and the Holy Spirit has sealed us. (Ephesians 1) God the Father made a promise to us. (Again Hebrews 6)

So I am in absolutely no danger of going to Hell unless; God the Father lies, Jesus the Son fails, and the Holy Spirit comes to Hell with me. I submit to you that none of these things will ever happen.

Therefore it is not an issue of earning my salvation as some will tell you, instead I am trying to live appropriately. As a Christian it is not appropriate for me to sin. I have been given a better way to live in Christ Jesus. I am finally enabled to live in such a way that is pleasing to God. I was unable to do this before I was saved because I was born into sin. So now as a Christian I am able not to sin. In Heaven I will not be able to sin.

It is of utmost importance to me. I don't want to disappoint myself but most of all I don't want to disappoint God. I feel like a promise breaker and I have always tried to keep my promises to anyone.

At this stage of the game, saved since 1980, I know how little sins can become bigger ones if we don't nip them in the bud. Take eating for example. I am on a diet again because I let gluttony overtake me and to my shame, I knew I was gaining weight but I didn't stop eating sweets

All of our struggles are different. I don't have the same struggles my DH does but we both fight to do what is right. Just because we are saved does not mean we don't have our temptations still. It doesn't matter that our sins are covered, we don't want to do anything to hurt God.

No matter what most people sin everyday. It's important not to sin but if you have the Lord in your heart and are saved he forgives all sin and you shall enter Heaven :)

We sin every day but it is very important that we do not sin because to God any sin is as bad as killing someone.

Research shows that the reason humans struggle with emotion to find equitable solutions is pinpointed the region of the brain called the insular cortex, or insula, which is also the seat of emotional reactions.

The fact that the brain has such a robust response to unfairness shows that sensing unfairness is a basic evolved capacity.

The emotional response to unfairness pushes people from extreme inequity and drives them to be fair. This observation shows our basic impulse to be fair isn't a complicated thing that we learn.

It therefore fully illustrates that all humans have morals controlled by the brain and that Christians are entirely wrong to try and claim morals as their own!!!!

But Christians found a way round it!!

Government statistics show that christians are vastly over represented in prisons for sexual, violent and fraudulent crime!!

The Catholic church is paying millions in compensation for the sex/pedophile crimes of their priests alone!!

Christians are vastly over represented in the divorce courts!!

Christians invented the concept of sin and then the idea that you could sin, ask forgiveness, get pardoned and start with a clean sheet!!

So no surprise that they are so expert at it is it?!!!

"My little children these things i write to you, that you may not sin and if anyone sins we have an advocate with the father,Jesus christ the righteous." 1 John 2:1 we are saved by God's grace However he tells not to sin but allows for our human nature saying that if we do our advocate is there and has paid the price for our sins we just need to recognize this and repent for the nature of the Holy spirit that lives inside of us is Love not sin and as we become more of the Holy spirit and less of ourselves we sin less and less may God bless and protect you

We all sinners and we can sin anytime. One need to find out what these sins are and stop them. This can take a life time and even Saint Paul struggle with sin in his life. Jesus was perfect and he still had problems, because he was perfect. Each day try to sin less and you will do it my friend in Christ Jesus name.

love is the key we all sin and non of us want to sin well those who believe in God.. I am not Christian but i think they dislike sin just like the rest of us

Too important, I just cannot explain it. To keep yourself from sinning is not to do it just for fun. You do it because you owe it to your spirit (yourself) and to the blood of Jesus Christ. It is hard though, when things get bad in your life you just can't seem to control yourself from thinking bad. But try not to allow yourself to doubt God's love for you and make sure that you repent.

It's impossible to avoid sinning completely, but it's VERY important to try not to. When we sin, we need to ask God to forgive us, and return back to Him and His ways.
