Full Metal Jacket ammo?!?

Which is better for Personnel protection in my home. FMJ or these so called target rounds I've been getting? When I went to get some ammo yesterday FMJ was cheaper. Just curious what are the pros and cons to this type of ammo? Is it better/worse for my gun or what?

FMJ ammo is for practice. For defensive use you should use hollow points.

FMJ Ammo is not recommended for home protection. Those type rounds only injure the attacker but have the power to go through walls and even houses. Shot gun ammo is the best home protection.

There are all kinds of ammo, but FMJ rounds are for the military mainly they were an idea of NATO to help keep down the deaths while in a war .they usually Punch through their target but unless they hit bone or a vital organ they don't do a lot of damage .Now hollow points or hydra-shock rounds are just the opposite they expand when they make contact with their target. The harder the target the larger the expansion but they have the ability to over penetrate in close environments .The rounds i use in my home defense is Glaser safety slugs they break up on Impact on Soft targets and it is the safest round out there

hollow points, and for every one that keeps saying that shotguns are the best for home protection they know nothing a shotgun is to large to carry in close quarters, stick to a hand gun that you are very familiar with
