Will atheists or agnostics have any fear of being microchipped?
Most non-believers are familiar with the end time prediction of the mark. Being that we are close to having that happen and the fact that the bible predicted it hundreds of years ago when the writers could not have possible understood how it would be possible - does that in any way make you hesitant to get it? I was just curious

I'm not afraid of it because it isn't going to happen.
The government cannot force us to implant something in our bodies. That is a serious breach of our constitutional rights as citizens. Not to mention the threat posed by identity thieves, who would have to cut the microchip out in order to steal a person's identity.

I don't think they'd be afraid of it, but if the government ever decides to FORCE them to get it, I'd be willing to bet that they would protest. They don't like to be forced to do anything. Who does?
And, IF the prophecy is about these implants (which I doubt), the "beast" will have to be FORCING people to take them, whether they want to or not. It would have to be to where nobody could "buy or sell" unless they had an implant. Somehow, the government would have to lock our bank accounts and put a hold on any wages or other monies we have owing to us, converting everything to an implanted microchip, which could then be used to access ALL of our personal information, right down to where we are and what we are doing at any moment. No citizen would have any privacy, ever again.
I'm pretty sure that such a law would violate our Constitutional rights, and I'm just about positive that atheists would scream about it as loudly, or maybe even more loudly, than the most fundamental "fundie" around.
And, as we all know, the second they began to holler about it, the ACLU would be all over it like stink on...well, they'd have it covered, you can count on it.
If I were you, I'd quit worrying about it.
I'd be more worried about what is going on in the mind, or what the hands are actually doing, as I suspect this "mark" will be a bit more subtle than we expect.
God is much more concerned with our attitudes and our actions than He is about implants.

Many athiests have big brother issues with the chips. But as far as the mark of the beast stuff? Im not. I have actually thought about the possibility of getting one with a tat over it as a medical alert (I have medical issues), but never really went much further than thinking.
No, those things dont make me hesitant. Why? Because I dont believe in them. LOTS of books have things that were imagined or vaguely 'predicted' different things and different events, yet Christians only recognize one of them. Beyond that, Christians keep calling every new technology the mark of the beast. First it was wrong to use finger prints as identification and linked to your accounts, the chips are the mark of the beast, a bar code, a this a that. Basically, anything and everything in our society including credit cards and the EZ Pass for the toll roads have been accused as a mark of the beast. Sounds to me like they are scared of the technology. Im not.
Source(s): Writers couldnt possibly understand a mark? As another answer stated, they had brands and tats back then. In fact, there are verses that mention tats. A mark of that nature could have been done a LONG time ago, as well. The problem here isnt that the chip is the mark of the beast. THe problem is that their religion has many Christians scared of technology. - Anonymous1 decade ago
The biblical "makr" is so VAGUE - as are all biblical "prophecies" it's easy to twist into meaning what you want it to.
A few years ago it was a bar code, now it's a microchip. What will it be in 30 years?
Close to the end?
According to christianity we've been "close" to the end since Jesus promised to return within the lifetimes of his immediate followers.
Still waiting . . .

It could also have been possible with branding or tattoos, which pre-date the New Testament by thousands of years.
However no government would ever attempt a measure as unpopular as implanting everybody with a foreign body. The government would be overthrown by revolution. Religion has nothing to do with it - the only people who would consent to such a thing are the odd wacko, and maybe a few convicts who want to get out of prison. No right-minded citizen would agree to it, and no functional cop or soldier would force them to it.

If it comes down to the government microchipping people, then yes I will fear it and reject it, but not because of some silly mark of the beast. It will be because of what the government can do with it. Conspiracy theorist? Why, yes I am.

No, I get you; though, global warming is a bigger threat and the United States will not micro chip their people. There is people who will no doubt micro chip themselves as a group and by penalties under law have to remove this chip when employment is terminated.

Will atheists or agnostics have any fear of being microchipped?
--I'm not afraid of a little implant.
Also, Revelation has NOTHING to do with the modern era.

The governemt is the one who is trying to manipulate you guys to having those chips in you. They are placed in there to control you. Hell no i dont want one of those in me. Anyone who lets themselves get one of those is an idiot.
