Question about bass and guitar tabs?

Ok, there's this bracket thing next to a number on the tabs and I don't know what it's supposed to mean. It would look like this: --2>---4>---

So yeah what are you supposed to do on those?

I believe it indicates a natural harmonic. To play a harmonic, instead of pressing the note down against the fretboard, lightly put your finger on the string at the same spot above the fret.

The symbol for a slide is a backslash.

    Maybe a slide?

(When you slide your finger up to the next fret, rather than lifting your finger)
