What you have to do is look for people from your same hometown area. Those are the people you will be able to relate to. Funny how I just seemed to be drown to this one guy and soon wanted to be friends ... found out we are both originally from the same city only about five miles away from each other. You will most likely develop friends at work rather than neighbors. You should read this article ... let them know you agree with them. I know I do.

Go to the Blue Martini one happy hour. It is in the Town Sq. Mall it is a great place. Been there several times after work. You will meet lots of people and they are professional. It is not a dive or pick up place. But you can make some interesting friends.
I live here and have never had a problem meeting people.
Good luck in California.

I would start with your job or school.
If you are single and looking to date, there are plenty of bars.
You could also post in Strictly Platonic personals on craigslist, just be careful of where you agree to meet people!
Cali is not any better for meeting people - certainly not worth moving to another state just to try and make friends.

well since your good looking, it wont be hard for you to make friends, cali is GREAT!!!!, especially socal, san diego or los angeles, both great cities to meet many people, many people are friendly, go to bars, clubs, to meet people,
las vegas isn't a great place, its always 110 degree during the day, blistering heat, hot enough to get nose bleeds, rude people, lots of bad stuff, but housing is cheap

what's your age?
well, my husband lives/works in vegas (i live/work in california, we have long dist. rel.). He makes all of his friends at work and at college. Do you have a job or go to college? I don't know, it seems hard to meet people in that town. I go alot, but I keep to myself because the people there are kinda different.
