Why is it a stereotype that if you wear glasses you are a nerd?

Back when glasses weren't a fashion statement and had coke bottle lenses, they made you pretty unattractive. I guess somehow getting the genetic short straw and having to wear glasses at a young age made you look less healthy, and therefore a little nerdy.

I have thick-framed black glasses and braces, I do look extremely nerdy, but I love it. It's my identity.

That's only kids idea when they are in Grade School.

When we get older & talk about their glasses to someone & thinks Nerdy, they have to wear Glasses;

70% of the time, people with glasses have something going on in their brain. I usually sit with people with glasses and I get good grades it's 50% accurate

I know! It's so annoying. I'm not smart. I can't see.

I guess they think people who wear glasses wrecked their eyes reading too much.

I don't think it has been for a while now, but I think it's because they use to be omega sized..
