What are the benefits of trying fencing as a sport?

And what sort of physical ability does it take?

    Well for one thing you have to have good agility and fast reflexes and the sport helps you improve that. Being fast on your feet is another benefit to gain. Your arm might get sore on the first few days for holding it up all the time but overall it was really fun for me. Just remember your helmet and padding unless you want to get jabbed in the eye :) Have fun!

    One of the benefits is you get to poke people with a long sharp object.
