Coin toss, a poem, comments?

the coin spins on its side

heads, you look forward to

what you want and can't have

tails, you accept what today holds

either way, you think you lose

so when it falls and comes

to full stop

you pick it up

and spin it again

pocket-change,

the only change

you see

Update:

I didn't mean it to be political.....

Hmm ... this is political in nature, and I was told to stay away from this stuff.

I beg to differ, but we'll see ...

THAT BEING SAID: On a metaphorical note - It does seem people keep trying to get the side of the coin they want. Try and try instead of just keeping what you get the first time. Sometimes it's just better to roll the dice, keep what you get and make the best of it.

EDIT: My apologies. Everything is political or religious to me today - tooo many conversations.

I like this, I think we are left with thoughts political on our minds *daily*

now, which in someways is so very sad, that we think it should need be, yet there seems no escape.........Life is a gamble in it self, much like Russian roulette, and a darn if you do or don't in this era.

    Good write Sue.

That is why people buy lottery tickets too...a momemt of escapism! The thrill of the roulette wheel, the roll of the die, the spin of a quarter and the 'best of seven'! lol

Decisions made on a coin toss - how much rationalization is in that. Sometimes it is the the easy way out - sometimes the only way out - but always - just a way out. ♥

Whoever they may be: monks, scribes or scholars is of no moment if we consider the many many revisions, additions, subtractions, and mis-translations. The version of King James simply does not, could not reflect the true spirit of the original writings.

    I like your line breaks.

Change, what the country said they wanted.

    We'll see.
