How do you get the burn...?

How do you get the burn smell out of a microwave? My co-worker burned popcorn, and not just a little bit. I mean this happened 10 days ago and we can still smell "burn" when we walk by. Any suggestions?

I am assuming you already cleaned the microwave thoroughly. And, you should also clean the immediate area where the microwave is stored and launder any linens that may have absorbed the burnt smell.

And, finally, curtains will hold burnt smell odors, too.

Put one cup of apple cider vinegar in a four cup microwave safe container and set the microwave on high for 2 minutes. Repeat.

    Repeat.

The fan on the microwave will exhaust the vinegar fumes through the system, thereby getting rid of the smell. Some people hate the smell of vinegar, perhaps even worse than burnt popcorn, so maybe you should try this vinegar remedy at the end of the day.

Leave the microwave door open over night.

Source(s): EDIT: I successfully got rid of the burnt popcorn smell with vinegar as stated above. My microwave is metal, by the way. The guy who needs anger management classes who tried to insult us with his immature nasty remarks needs a life. It must suck to be him.

    Never...it's penetrated the plastic.

EDIT: Ignore the idiots with their useful advise. The burn smell has penetrated the plastic. There is no way you can get rid of it...only throw it away. Or live with it.

Or you can waste your time doing what the morons have said and play about with vinegar etc, only to realise the smell is still there.

Too many idiots in this place...god it's getting tiring with "top contributor" imbeciles giving stupid advice.
