Dogs? Not sure how to take this...?

My boyfriend and I have two boxers (male and female) that we rescued at different times. My father in-law has a german shepard mix which he rescued and she'd not old enough to be spayed yet. We have decided we want to buy a pitt puppy from a friend of our whose female got pregnant. We want a male however. The female shepard mix will be spayed when she is old enough, however who do i call about having four dogs during the period from 7 to 5? See, I go get my father i-laws dog at 8 or he bring her to me some days on his way to work if he needs to stop by and I watch her during the day. She loved to play with my boxers. The only problem is we are onyl allowed to have three dogs, and I don't want to be cited because technically there are four on my property. Do I call the humane society/animal control or do I call the government offices? I only watch her so I don't have to go to his house every two hours to let her out. She spend most of her begging in a cage outside so isn't too good at the holding it part of potty training yet.

Update:

well, our humane society people arent the nicest n will hastle you every day

Stifle your "wants" and do what's legal. You have enough dogs. You certainly don't need to throw a Pit in the mix. How can you have so many dogs and be so clueless?

If, for some reason, animal control comes by all you have to do is tell them that you don't own the dog and that you watch her for your father-in-law while he's at work. They usually won't push it and if she's licensed then they would be able to see that she indeed, lives at another residence.

    You misunderstand your city/state laws.

You can only OWN three dogs, meaning that only three dogs can be registered to your property at any given time.

Your fathers dog is not yours, you are only taking care of it for the time being.

No one is going to say anything about it anyway, and if they do just explain the situation.

You can't be cited for a dog you don't own. SHOULD animal control come out all you have to do is explain that she does not belong to you and that you only watch her on certain days at your home.

I think you could call the humane society because they would be the ones who would come to your house and they would ticket you
