What clothes would look good on me?

I pretty much got rid of my whole wardrobe, as everything in it either didn't fit me or was ugly. Now I need to get more clothes for back to school, but I don't really know what would look good. What trends would work for me? I'm 5'1", pretty small; dark auburn hair, dark blue eyes, pale skin. What types of clothes should I buy that would flatter me? Also, what colors would look the best on me? Thanks so much!

    Any intense dark colors would do fine, but don't go too light, or it will wash your features out. Darker neutrals, and cooler colors would do nicely. Keep the light yellows, oranges, and pinks subdued and darker to keep them from making you look too pale. Try rich reds or other colors that complement blue, to bring out your eyes. Notice how the meat counter at the store always has green garnish? It makes the meat look redder, and so pinkish red shades will make your blue eyes look bluer! Which is always nice. I think I got my color wheel pretty accurate, but I'm too lazy to check.

    If you're slim, most clothing will look great, but stay away from base layers that drape a lot, babydoll tops, and slim leg jeans, they will make you appear waiflike or too small for your clothes. Go for straight legs, or boot-cut jeans if you have enough of a thigh to balance them properly. As for the top, anything fitted should be great as a first or first few layers, and then if you'd like, a fitted blazer, jacket, vest, sweater, or so on. Alternatively, a shawl or flyaway cardigan or other drape-style piece of clothing would look very nice. Fitted skirts will look nice; anything too puffy might, again, make you look stick-thin. Pencil skirts, pleated skirts, and other not-too-puffy things will do nicely. Keep the skirts shorter than your knees if they're not fitted, or else they'll make your legs look shorter. And stay away from capris, for the same reason. Also, don't let anything that drapes about your body fall past the area between your waist and hips, or you'll shorten your legs and lengthen your torso. Maybe some mid-rise or high-rise pants, depending on what your build is like, to lengthen your legs relative to your torso. A cropped jacket might help too. Vests make slender bodies look better, and the lines on things like v-neck blouses, tops, shirts, etc. make you look a touch taller, and button-up shirts are pretty flattering, too. Layer to taste!

    Avoid big jewelry, it might make you look doll-sized! But have fun with clothing, and play with a lot of patterns, especially things that are taller than they are wide. Maybe an argyle, windowpane check, or pinstripes.

    Colors:

    Light purples, reds, blues, and yellows

    Colors to avoid: dark greens, and some types of oranges.

    Stores(I recommend):

    Cato's (for shirts)

    Kohl's (for jeans, dresses, and skirts)

    Hope I Helped
