Girl meets boys (help me out here)?

My mother introduced me to a guy about 2 months ago ..it was really quick and we didn't talk just say hi and shook hands. Later on when i was home my mother told me he is looking for a GF so i thought about it and decided that i would like to get to know this guy better plus am single. Anyway making a long story short the guy asked my mother about me but she didn't do a great job and didn't even bother giving him my name. So my question is how do i approach this guy or give him my number. I don't see this guy while am at that place it was just coincidence that day i was picking up my mother and he was outside.
