It sounds lots like our wild roses right here in jap Washington state, in the different case a root inventory rose, a rose that different "fancier " roses like floribundas or grandifloras are grafted onto. If the grafted area of the rose dies off, the muse inventory grows , and a few of them can get particularly great.. we've one beside our porch that grows to the roof, right into a tree, and over the porch roof. i like it. It has pink blossoms, single, with 5 petals and scents superb. it in lots of situations blooms as quickly as a 12 months, yet in a stable 12 months it could have a 2d bloom that's sparser than the 1st. There are rose books so which you could use to discover lots of those, because of the fact they're somewhat previous time relatives roses. verify your community library.

More than likely its an old fashioned shrub rose. Offhand it sounds like a variety called "Ballerina", but it would really help it you had a picture.
