Help handling my period during school?
I've never had my period at school before. The first time I got it was in the summer. My period lasts six days with the third being the worst. Tomorrow is going to be the third day of my period and also my first day of going to school with a period. I'm kind of worried. I wanted to know how everyone else handled it and if you guys had any suggestions about something that might would help me feel more comfortable. Thanks!

Wear jeans that arent tight on your crotch, & be sure to wear BOTH a pad and a tampon, and have plenty of them with you. check the tampon between every other period and you should be finee.

dark jeans or dark pants. Long top. Sweater or hoodie(if affected by coldness), extra pads and/or tampons, extra underwear already prepped with pad(in case of accidents),perfume and or/deodorant (some people increase persperition odor during this time), comfortable undergarments (some people when they are out in public for a while starts to feel retricted by say, their bras or spandex tops).probably a little looser than what u usually wear. Tablets/Medication for periods.
Some of these things you may not need but in the event that you do you will be prepared.

How about menstrual cups? Menstrual cups are small flexible cups you wear during your period, they're much healthier and more sanitary than tampons or some types of pads. To use them you just fold to insert into your vagina and give them a little turn once inserted, then to remove just pull out, clean and reinsert, so they're really easy to use and very comfortable. Cups can be worn for up to 12 hours at any time of your period so during school they are great as you won't have to worry about changing during school or carrying spares, also cups don't leak so you won't have to worry about leaking at school! There is a good little article about cups on Scarleteen http://www.scarleteen.com/article/advice/what_are_... and Lunapads have a good FAQ on their site http://www.lunapads.com/productfaq/divacup.htm but the menstrual cup support community has the most information about cups http://www.menstrualcups.org/ if you want to know more.
Otherwise you have tampons and pads, but remember that you're supposed to alternate between tampons and pads and you have to change them every 4-6 hours. Use pads as back-up, maybe consider cloth pads like Lunapads as they are more comfortable and you can add extra layers to give you extra protection through the day, or use night-time pads which hold more flow. Another suggestion would be to use period panties, these are normal underwear but with pads built-in, so you could wear just them or wear pads over the top of them then you have extra protection, plus you could wear a pad, then when it's time to change rather than carrying spare pads you could just remove the pad you were wearing and just use the period panties as protection instead of putting on a new pad! Or just keep a period pack with you, a little bag with spare tampons and pads, along with wipes to clean your hands before leaving the bathroom stall, clary sage to stop cramps, and maybe spare panties in case you have an accident, if really heavy you may want to wear extra panties as extra protection and have a jumper with you to cover you up just in case you leak through your clothing.

Use a regular tampon (you really shouldn't be using super till you've had your period for longer) and a pad. Make sure you change it regularly, like between every other class or something. Don't wear tight pants, and maybe jeans or any other dark pants you have, and you'll be fine.

Don't be worried, just take some paracetamol or nurofen etc with you just in case you feel sick and just change your tampon/pad as regularly as you can to ensure you feel comfortable during lessons etc.
