Furnace Blower Fan Motor?

I want to use an old furnace blower as a patio fan, but I'm confused about the wiring? The fan motor has the following colored wires, 2-brown that are connected to the capacitor, 1-green/ground that is connected to the housing. 1-blue, 1-red,1-yellow 1- black. I only want it to run on high speed only. What wires do I connect together? Which will then be common and which will be hot.

Thanks,

Richard

    Red - Low

    Blue - Medium

    Black - High

    Yellow - Common

If you do not partially block the side of the blower opposite the motor, creating some static pressure, the motor will most likely over-amp and over-heat, tripping the overload. I suggest, too, that you put some hardware cloth over both sides of the blower, along with the outlet side, to prevent potential injuries.

Look on the motor for a schematic to find neutral it should also tell you which is high. If there is no wiring diagram you will need to do it the hard way trial and error keep wires separate and wire nut the ones you do not use other wise they will be hot when power is supplied to the motor. Black will more than likely be common.

The fan motor and blower motor are one in an identical, the blower wheel is a separate merchandise related to the blower/fan motor. it particularly is a sturdy thought to have them replaced on an identical time if the unit has any age on it, besides the shown fact that it particularly is not any longer continuously mandatory. If the unit replaced into vibrating before the motor went out then that could desire to show that the blower wheel replaced into out of stability and ruined the bearings in the motor. those expenses sounded especially intense, yet i assume it varies from section to section.

Assuming that the motor is 115/120 volt. The two brown wires (one should have a stripe down it) go to the capacitor. Green is Ground, correct.... Blue commonly low speed. Red commonly medium speed. Black commonly high speed. The yellow should actually be white for nutreal............Do not wire nut the unused wires together. wire nut them individually,,,,,,,,,,
