Anyone go to Maaco for a paintjob?

I read mixed reviews. Cheap, but really horrific quality.

I want to get my car completely redone because it's going to have different colored parts on it [its my first car/project]. I want it factory quality, but I will settle for less. I just want a decent paintjob that'll stay reliable.

Just wondering your opinion on Maaco's job quality!

Thanks again!

Maaco is like any business. They happen to offer a very cheap paint job that everybody ends up getting because of the price. The cheapest paint job (that excludes most prep work) does come out cheap looking. I happened to have an eclipse that I had a body kit attached to. I paid around $1,000 for them to mold and sand kit flush with the body, paint the entire car with base coat/clear coat, and paint a carbon fiber hood. The job came out excellent. The only problem I saw was that they didn't mask around the front tire and paint was all inside my wheel well. Only mistake they made. You get what you pay for. If they were as bad as everyone says; they wouldn't be in business.

You will get what you pay for. They have different levels of quality------workmanship and paint. Price determined by your choice of level.
