What to Wear on the First Day?

Question

I'm going to high school, but I don't know if I should wear shorts or jeans on the first day of school. In middle school they let us wear super short- shorts and they didn't care. I really want to wear shorts on the 1st day, but even though they were ok in middle school, will they be ok to wear in high school? I don't want to get off on the wrong foot on the 1st day by wearing something that might be against dress code.

Hi! If i were you, I'd wear jeans on the 1st day and see what everyone else is wearing then on the 2nd day wear the shorts after you've seen what everyone is wearing. You don't want to start off on the wrong foot. When I was in high school, they were pretty picky about stuff like that. If they see what you're wearing on the 1st day and the shorts are pretty short, they'll probably keep an eye on you all the time. Good Luck! :-)

okay honestly, short shorts are cute but other girls will think of you as slutty or show offish. highschool is way different then middle school. and you don't want to start your first day of high school off with getting in trouble because of short shorts! go on the safe side, go longer and see what everyone else is wearing

well, it depends. im in middle school, and the principals dont allow short-shorts. you could wear shorts, al long as there not to short. just to be sure you dont get in trouble the first day.

most schools have a big book of rules, policys, and other stuff like that. you probably should have got one, when you went to pick up your schedule.

and also, sense your one of the new people at the school, just a teacher, or someone. they would tell you.

OH ALSO!!! most high schools keep the rooms FREEZING!!!! so i would be awear of that to.

I would wear jeans the first day and pay attention to see if anyone else wheres short shorts. No one remembers your first day outfit anyways and wearing short shorts is bad idea anyways cause you have to sit at the end of your chair all day or else you'll start sticking and you'll get those ugly read seat marks on your legs, and thats the last thing you want guys to notice when they check out your butt ;p

If the shorts are really short i would not wear them the first day because you don't want the older girls thinking bad of you (or the guys) but if you have around mid thigh shorts those would be fine. but if you are not sure i would just wear jeans and if you saw girls in shorts wear them the 2nd day.:) hope i helped.

well if you want to wear shorts, but dont get in trouble, the average shortest lentgh high school, allows is a 6 inch inseam, or roughly mid-thigh. so wear some shorts, but not to short.

My high school doesn't enforce the dress code very strictly. If you want to wear shorts, go for it.  if they are really short, bring a backup pair of jeans or something.

you wont get in trouble on the first day for wearing short shorts; they may give you a warning; but you wont get in trouble. && if it is hot then you should definately wear shorts; because you dont wanna burn up all day. :]
